‘A Stepping Stone to Youth Work’ has been developed to provide your people with the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver a service which is fit for purpose and enables them to grow and progress within a youth work setting. It aims to support the professional development and competency of individuals and teams, raising the standards of delivery, for your organisation and for the benefit of the young people you work with.
The CWVYS induction programme is a way for your organisation to demonstrate its commitment to the development of your workforce, the value you place on their contribution and the ways in which you support them to deliver the desired outcomes for young people, your organisation and the wider community.
The programme is an ongoing work development framework, providing induction training and/or refresher training within your organisation. Individual or a series of units can be completed. Each unit is individually accredited at level 2 through Agored Cymru via Adult Learning Wales. Delivery is flexible, either as a 1:1 mentoring arrangement via a traditional course group delivery. The course can be delivered through your own trainers or, if required, trainers may be available for you via the CWVYS Training Consortium or with support from Adult Learning Wales.
Following the completion one or more units, learners may be encouraged to progress to the Agored Cymru level two qualification in Youth Work.
