Swansea Community Farm is a community-led, award-winning charity, set in 3.5 acres of land in Swansea.
We are the only city farm in Wales and host a range of farm animals, allotments, wildlife areas and bee hives. The Farm exists to improve wellbeing, build skills, and create a sense of belonging, alongside producing local food and caring for our natural environment. The farm work is done by volunteers (aged 8 – 85), and there are lots of opportunities to get involved in volunteering, training, and play on our beautiful site.
Swansea Community Farm’s Child and Youth programme is a project offering a range of activities for children and young people across Swansea, giving them hands-on experiences in a natural environment, emphasising outdoor education, sustainability, and community involvement. Through this program, participants engage in a wide variety of activities, from caring for farm animals and growing vegetables to learning about local wildlife and the principles of environmental conservation.
We run our popular Farm Clwb on a Saturday from 10am-3.30pm offering volunteering opportunities for young people (aged 10-16 years old), with a wellbeing need. This is broad and can include struggles with mental health, low confidence, anxiety or challenges in school or at home, or for those with a range of disabilities, including neurodevelopmental conditions or physical health issues. Farm Clwb helps young people gain additional support, build confidence, improve their relationships and increase skills.
