The Challenge Wales charity operates two sail training vessels Challenge Wales | Wales’ Tall Ship and Adventure Wales.
Through the medium of sailing the organisation teaches young people, aged 12 – 25 years, life skills including teamwork & communication skills, leadership, decision making and planning as well as developing confidence and respect for others.
Outdoor learning can have a positive impact on young people and voyages have evidenced improvements in mental health and wellbeing. Challenge Wales offers Agored Cymru accreditation in Teamwork, Developing Confidence and an Environmental Project.
Plus is a DofE Approved Activity Provider and RYA Sailability Centre. Voyages last from 1 – 14 days and take place from South, West and North Wales as well as other parts of the UK and overseas. Bursary funding is often available to help subsidise the voyage costs.
No sailing experience is necessary to take part.
